Aspartate and Glutamate Amino Acids

Both Aspartate and Glutamate are among the 20 amino acids that are genetically coded and are needed to perform vital functions in living organisms.

Both of them have a similar chemical structure as the other amino acids, which are, an amine group, a carboxylic group, an R group.

Glutamate amino acid, which is an ionic form of glutamic acid, plays a vital role in Amino acids protein production, nutrition, metabolism, and signaling. Glutamate is extremely important to amino acid metabolism. It is necessary for the synthesis of key molecules, such as glutathione. It plays a major role in signaling within the central nervous system and is used with GABA neurotransmitter. Is essential for the Umami taste to release within your mouth. These factors prove that glutamate is a functional amino acid.

Aspartate amino acid is the ionic form of acid, again playing important role in protein synthesis. Its amino group is in the protonated form -NH3+ under physiological conditions, while, its α-carboxylic acid group is deprotonated −COO− under similar conditions. In addition to protein synthesis, it plays an important role in hormone production and the normal functioning of the central nervous system.
